Sepilok Giant
Facts!
This giant of a tree is from the Dipterocarpaceae family or Damar family.
It is locally known as seraya kuning runcing (Richetia acuminatissima) and traded under the name 'yellow seraya'.
The Sepilok Giant, a towering tree, stands at an incredible 66.7 m tall which is about the height of a 19-storey building!
This giant tree belongs to the same genus as 'Menara' (Shorea faguetiana), the tallest tropical tree in the world, found in Danum Valley with a height of 100.8 m.
